5 He’ll Always Pick Her Stars!!

This is a fabulous start to a new series. I’ve visited Willow Branch Mountain in a previous book and was so excited when Ms. Montgomery announced she was writing an entire series about the Langston Family.

This book is Warren and Maisie’s story and it’s filled with love, hope, desire, second chances and a never ending passion. Maisie and Warren were best friends and high school sweethearts and they married right out of high school. Even though they wanted different things out of life, they were young and in love and were willing to do whatever it took to make their marriage a success. Until, things changed and sacrifices needed to be made. Hence why after seven years they’re still married with Warren refusing to sign the papers Maisie has been sending him over the years. So when she shows up at his door, Warren has a bargain for her…spend 7 days with him no questions asked and if at the end of the week, she still wants him to sign the papers he will. What Maisie underestimated was the lengths Warren would go to… he brought out all the stops!!

The minute I started listening to Aiden Snow and Savannah Peachwood narrate this book I was captivated hook, line and sinker. I loved Warren and his stubbornness. He’s not moved on from Maisie. So much so that he’s never even dated anyone. Maisie on the other hand, has dated and is now engaged and it’s imperative for Warren to sign these papers so whatever it takes is what she’ll do. This girl if filled with spunk and determination. What she wasn’t expecting was how she still felt about Warren. He completely infiltrated her heart in ways that were so different from when they were younger. I think the reason that Maisie started to fall back in love with Warren is because her fiancée isn’t all that and a bag of chips!

Warren is a man on a mission and I fully supported everything he was doing to win her back because it’s very clear they’re meant to have their happily ever after! His plan was well thought out and very successfully executed. The more time they spent together, the more their love was reignited. And their passion was explosive! But, as before, there are others that aren’t onboard with Warren and Maisie and the lengths they go to had me wide eyed!

But don’t count Warren out, because he’s not losing the love of his life again. I may have cackled with glee towards the end of the book LOL! This book was everything I love about Ms. Montgomery’s writing. She’s an expert at weaving a story that has me experience so many feelings and her choice of narrators is spot on for this book. I completely lost myself in their narration. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!!

I have such mixed feelings about this one. We follow Warren and Maisie, high school sweethearts who got married young and then separated shortly after Maisie started college out of state. The kicker is, they never got divorced, and now Maisie is engaged to someone else and needs Warren to sign their divorce papers. He’s ignored previous requests to do so, so she ends up back in their hometown, attempting to get him to sign them in person. He agrees, under one condition: he has one week to prove to her that they should still be together.

The premise is a classic at this point, and both main characters have so much backstory. I really enjoyed getting to learn about them and their motivations. The author did a really good job explaining their feelings and making sense of the initial separation. It was definitely sweet to see them reconnecting.

But, you really have to look past the fact that in 80% of the book, Maisie is technically cheating on SOMEONE. Whether it’s because she’s still legally married to Warren and is engaged to Hayes, or because she’s engaged to Hayes and is going on “not-dates” with Warren, it’s still a HUGE gray area. If cheating is a deal-breaker, this won’t be the book for you.

That being said, these two do seem perfect together. They sold it for me and I was really happy with the ending. Will definitely be picking up the next book in the series.

Take My Name is the first book in the Willow Branch Mountain series, following Maisie and Warren. Sweet Home Alabama is one of my favorite movies from the 2000s, and this book gave me all the nostalgic vibes. I couldn't get enough of these characters and their super sweet second chance romance.

Maisie is the only woman Warren has ever loved. They were best friends growing up, fell in love as teenagers, and got married. After college, Maisie moved to New York to pursue her career while Warren stayed behind on his family's ranch. Although they haven't seen each other in seven years, they never officially got divorced. Now, Maisie is engaged to someone else and is back in Willow Branch Mountain to finally get Warren to sign the divorce papers. Warren has never stopped loving Maisie and believes they still belong together. Signing the divorce papers is the last thing he wants to do, so he offers her a deal. Seven days and seven dates so he can show her how great they can be together. If she still wants the divorce after that, he’ll sign the papers.

Maisie and Warren completely stole my heart. The two of them were perfect together. Their chemistry was sizzling, and I loved their banter. Warren is the perfect grumpy cowboy who would do anything to show Maisie they were meant to be. He was patient for seven years and never gave up on Maisie. This man built her dream house, including a big library! I mean, c'mon! The way he loved Maisie made me melt. Watching Maisie slowly fall back in love with Warren was so satisfying. I loved that Warren never rushed Maisie and continued to show how much he cared while giving her time to work out her feelings. Maisie and Warren's journey back to each other was full of love, heartbreak, forgiveness, and growth. They both made mistakes, but those mistakes made them stronger, and I couldn't help but root for them. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for what comes next in this series.

Narration:
Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow performed this audiobook in duet. I loved them as Maisie and Warren, and felt their voices were perfectly suited for these amazing characters. Savannah and Aiden did a wonderful job making the characters feel real and bringing them to life. They brought the banter, chemistry, and all the emotions associated with Maisie and Warren's complicated but sweet journey back to love. Savannah and Aiden were the perfect narrating duo and delivered an amazing listening experience.

Incredible, no notes, ate this up

From the very beginning, Take My Name hit hard with the Sweet Home Alabama vibes and I was instantly in love with this story.  From the flashbacks from their youth all the way to the present, I was the one-woman cheering squad for Warren and Maise because love like that is meant to last a lifetime.

Warren - hello super swoon!  This man fell in love as a teenager and never, not once gave up on that love or his wife. Maise was sassy and I loved how her and Warren went back and forth.  These two were an absolute dream and so much fun and watching them fall after being apart for all of those years just made my heart grow so full.

Take My Name isn't all sweet though because Brooke always has a way of writing beautiful characters that are filthy too and these two, whew! Their chemistry was explosive and they were so perfect together!

On audio, Savannah Peachwood and Aiden Snow were incredible.  From the southern accents all the way to the perfect way they each portrayed the flirty banter, sass, explosive and deliciously filthy moments all the way to the sweetest ones.  I laughed, I swooned, and I fanned myself because these performances were truly spectacular!

I cannot wait to see where this series goes!

I really enjoyed this story and getting to delve into Warren and Maisie. These two have a past being high school sweethearts and in love and making it through college and long distance while Maisie was in New York for school. Warren proposes and they get married and they have a summer together and the love is still there but Maisie is offered an internship in New York that she takes and Warren doesn't move with her. It's been years now and while divorce papers have shown up delivered to Warren's door, he has sent them back unsigned. He still loves Maisie and has worked to build they life they always dreamed of together and always considered himself married. I love how devoted he was to her. Even though things weren't smooth sailing and they were clearly having problems, he loved her and knew she was the one for him. When she comes back to get him to sign the papers as she is now engaged to another man, Warren has a proposition for her instead; give him 7 days to remind her why they fell in love, how good it was between them and could be again and if she still wants him to sign, he will. I enjoyed the way that Warren pursued Maisie and that the dates he took her own were about the important moments in their past love story and how they play a part in reminding her about different parts of herself as well as falling in love again. It is a second chance for the marriage that Warren is fighting for and how he sees all of Maisie for who she is, not just parts of her or who he wants her to be. This story was spicy with quite a bit of angst with the whole situation setup and fun as well. It was really well done and flowed so well. I was engaged from beginning to end and really rooting for Warren and Maisie to figure things out and get back together pretty much from the beginning. Technically while Warren and Maisie are still married they were estranged and Maisie is engaged to another man while this is happening so for some people could cross a line regarding cheating. I thought it was handled well throughout the story. It does have that Sweet Home Alabama feel to it in that regard. I loved getting to know Warren's siblings as well and can't wait for the next book in the series!
The narrators did a fantastic job with this story. It is done in dual narration and they both did such a fantastic job bringing the characters to life and acting out all the emotion and action in their voices. It was a great listen and very enjoyable.

I received a copy of this audiobook from the publisher/author to review.

This is the story of  Warren and Maisie. These two have a history. They have been married before but had separated. Now Maisie is engaged to someone else and needs Warren to sign their divorce papers. They just had never gotten it done but now she needs it done. However, when she gets to town to accomplish this he has a proposition for her. Give him seven days to remind her why they fell in love and what it use to be like between them. He also is going to make sure that she is not making a mistake with this other guy. I really loved listening to this story. I could really go on and on about it but I don't want to give away the story. I actually listened to this book in one go. I was so hooked on these characters and the will they give each other and their marriage a second chance that I couldn't put it down. The narrators did such an amazing job with this book that I plays like a little movie in your head while your listening. This is a book you do not want to miss.
