I received this book as an ARC | 5 ⭐️
“𝙎𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙩, 𝙈𝙖𝙯𝙚. 𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣’.”
Brooke deserves a gold medal for the way she writes small town romances! The attention to detail with the way she describes and lays out her towns and the community within them are some of the best ones I’ve ever read.
Warren and Maisie’s chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS. There’s so much tension and angst between them, their dialogue will have you kicking your feet. From the beginning, Warren hangs onto everything Maisie says and does. He wants to know about her thoughts and feelings, and goes above and beyond to communicate that and show her that he’s all in and never stopped.
With Maisie being engaged to someone else, I wasn’t sure how it would play out, and while the lines do get a little blurry, I think their character growth and story develops in the perfect way. Being young and naive, and not knowing how to communicate big life goals and feelings is a huge part of this story and I really enjoyed the way they learned to articulate those feelings and have a real conversation together.
This is the perfect start to a new series, and I can’t wait to see the development of personalities for the rest of the Langston siblings and their HEA’s.

Brooke has done it again. I am obsessed with this series already, and its only book one. I loved Warren and Maisie so much. Even though she moved on with her life (or so it seemed), he knew she was it for him. He built her, her dream home, on hopes she would come back home. *swoon* I can't wait to see how this series goes. What a great way to start a brand-new series.

What a heartfelt love story between two high school sweethearts just trying to find their way in life.
Warren has always been in love with Maisie. He knew she was his one true love from the beginning. So when she goes off to college in NY, he knew she needed to go and find her way. But what little did he know, she wouldn’t want to come back to their small country town. But he does everything she has ever asked in hopes she comes back to him.
Maisie has always wanted to please her parents but also wanted to break free of them to prove she can make it on her own. Though she didn’t know she would be leaving her husband in order to prove herself. Then flash forward 7 years and she has moved on and even found new love…or so she thinks.
I know what you might be thinking, she is already married and finds another man?! There is no open cheating as they are “separated” and she actively seeks a divorce over the 7 years.
But you can’t beat true love.
I adored Warren and how he held out hope for Maisie to return to him.

Brooke, I do not know what you put in this book but I couldn’t put it down! I love a good book where there is groveling and TONS of emotions. The story between Warren and Maisie just really had me in all the feels. It didn’t help when my tears didn’t let me see the words I was trying to read but I loved it nevertheless. When a book throws my heart around a little before getting to the HEA, I appreciate the journey and the plot a lot more. The man that Warren is just made me obsessed with him. He is literally swoon worthy, make your heart skip a beat, melt your panties off type of man. He knew what he wanted and if it wasn’t Maisie then it would be no one. Even after years of being apart, he built the life they dreamed of when they were younger. Warren is so down bad for Maisie that is it wasn’t her then it would be no one. Maisie and Warren’s story is one of growth and second chances. It is a story that shows you that life is not linear, there are ups and downs and sometimes we lose sight of what matters most but with love at the center, you can overcome anything! This book DIDNOT disappoint! And if you have read the Sugarland creek series, then you will love the cameo in this book! I can’t wait to read the next book and find out what happened between Silas and Posey.

This book was such an interesting twist of stories considering if you read the previous series you know how these two end up.
I did enjoy getting their back story and seeing how this second chance worked out.
The spice was so spicing! But I did appreciate how they went a majority of the book without being physically intimate and really worked on building back their foundation.
I love Warren and really think he is the better of the main characters. I don’t love the cheating trope and while this isn’t necessarily cheating, I didn’t love that she had a fiancé throughout.
I am so excited for book 2 because the set up between Silas and Posey is great!

If you're a sucker for second-chance romance like I am, this book is an absolute must-read. Think Sweet Home Alabama vibes with extra spice, heart, and emotional depth.
Maisie and Warren were high school sweethearts who married young but life pulled them in different directions. Years later, Maisie is thriving in the city and engaged to someone new. Everything seems perfect, except she is still married. And Warren is not signing the divorce papers.
What follows is a sweet and emotional story as Warren sets out to prove they still belong together. He plans a week full of adventures to remind Maisie of the life and love they once shared. The chemistry between them is off the charts. Brooke Montgomery brings the spice, and it is definitely sizzling.
Warren is the kind of book boyfriend we all root for. Tender, loyal, funny, and completely devoted. I loved seeing Maisie rediscover the girl she used to be and the man Warren has become. There are some truly heartfelt moments, including the fact that Warren never moved on and even built her dream home hoping she would come back.
This story is romantic, nostalgic, sexy, and full of heart. A perfect pick for anyone who believes in forever love and second chances.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Well, what an absolutely amazing start to this next series of books by the amazing @brookewritesromance.
I was hooked from the very first page I could not put this down.
This is the story of Warren and maisie, childhood sweethearts, separated for 7 years and pulled back together again through life's circumstances (no spoilers you need to go and read to find out all the good bits 😉) what happens next...go and have a look.
This book has given me laughs and giggles and feet kicks and everything. A story you will not be able to put down and will leave you desperate for book 2.... a sneaky little connection to another story in there which I loved also!!!
This book has ticked all the boxes for me, childhood romance, second chance, cowboy, slow burn...the list goes on and on.
