Siento que es perfecto como inicio de saga porque plantea u escenario que nos puede dar muchos otros libros divertidos, pero al mismo tiempo es una historia que empieza y termina en el libro y puede quedar perfectamente hasta ahí.

Warning: there are cannibal creepy zombie-esque creatures. Like the Reavers from Firefly. Which is my least favorite thing to read/watch/hear about. Despite that, I read the whole thing (just not at night) because Stroud is such a genius with his characters and world building. Will be back for book 2

If you've read Jonathan Stroud's books before, mainly the Lockwood and company books. I think you'll find this very on theme. He has strong character development. He has relationships that form throughout the book and we have sassy smart talking characters. I think this is a departure of style from the Lockwood& co books as this book seems much more lighthearted. We are still going through adventures while having a really well thought out story, without as much doom and gloom. what I like about this book was we had the dynamic between bumbling super powerful character and a smart talking StreetWise character. For a YA adventure book, This was exactly what it said on the tin. We have a dystopian world and as you move through the world you find out more and more about it. I am hoping there's more books in this series cuz I'd like to find out more of how the cataclysm in this book happened. But solid YA adventure, well developed characters, reasonably good plot.
