I enjoyed this third instalment the most so far, at about 62% there was a pretty intense section with Malta that had me biting my knuckles for a bit while walking my dogs, omg! This series definitely feels more like one long book broken up into 4 parts because it just kind of ends randomly lol. I’m excited to see how it ends and then get back to my Beloved.

Funny; I finished this October 3rd and completely forgot to mark it read!

First half was under par for Hobb, second half was intriguing. Enjoying but not enthralled.

Three quarters of the way through the Rain Wilds Chronicles. I see the vision, I enjoyed, but I'm only one more book away from getting back to my man Fitz!

Highlights -
Seeing Malta again. Seeing Hest suffer

Intriguing -
The Duke of Chalced being a villain

Confusing -
What happened to my guy Selden? I needed more of him.

Solid third installment! I'm both super excited and nervous to read the final book. I love it but don't want it to end!

6 stars. This book is the best in the series so far. I love the glimpses of the rest of the world and seeing how all the different politics of the region are finally starting to come together. And seeing the dragons finally become dragons is so satisfying.

Robin Hobb finds her pacing with wonderful descriptions and pros. This series was an improvement on Liveship Trader's with great sequel vibes.
I read the series really only to get to Fitz and the Fool, the stronger elements of the Elderlings series,
