And he tells her how he just meant to create it for a boy named Peter but it ended up getting a large following and she confesses to not wanting to work at a gambling hall forever and that she applied for film school but doubts she’d get in but she has a business degree. He had told her he’s gotten a lot of sad news lately and she asks to hear it and he tells her that growing up his mom always told him his dad had an important and dangerous job and that’s why he couldn’t live with them. And he’d visit once a year on his birthday. He tells her that as he got older the visits turned into lectures. That he built himself into the man he is today for his dad. That this wasn’t the life he wanted. And then he found out his dad is just a criminal. She laid beside him. And then the next day she attached her go pro to south paw. South paw seemed to be doing better. She tells him she needs to go to New York the next day and that she doesn’t have a choice and he tells her he has a choice and he’s not letting her get away from him. She tells him she thinks he needs to think a little harder about this and how important this trip is for south paw. She tells him things are moving too fast. They go on a walk and he tells her he’ll convince her. She’s walking and hears south paw bark and then he jumps into a rapid. Will is nowhere nearby so she jumps in after southpaw. We know that he wants to cave that he hated seeing her in pain and on the floor but he keeps telling himself it’s all an act and she’s not actually in pain and he needs to focus on one thing at a time and that’s southpaw right now. Will told her he’s given her chances to tell him and she never did. He gave her his word and all she gave him was betrayal. At the vet he’s waiting for southpaws medicine when the doctor comes in and tells him his doctor back in New York has been trying to contact him. They did a misdiagnosis on south paw and he doesn’t need the medicine anymore. And his lump is benigne. The infection is gone. He’ll need a procedure done but he’s not dying. He feels so much relief but the only person he wants to tell is Theresa. So he has guys pick her up and she’s supposed to watch the act. But then they hand her the gun and want her to kill the store owner and she can’t and they start beating her and let Nicky watch and then they lay into Nicky too. Meanwhile Will is in a cop car on his way. He is told she’s injured but walking and he’s pissed. They mention restaurant Tomasos and I think that might be one of the restaurants that was referenced in one of the other mafia books. He busts in and sees his dad holding a gun to Theresa’s head and he tells her he won’t allow his dad to hurt her or her brother Nicky. And his father tells him why he wanted him back in New York. He made his mom partner and his mom included him so he’s making money off of Will. And with Will being off and possibly losing investors would lose Silas money. A man attacks will and Silas points a gun at him but will disarms the man and points the gun at his own father. When Silas goes to repoint it’s at Theresa he shoots and hits his father in the side. He chose Theresa. He is upset watching her brother hold her even knowing it’s her brother. She tells Nicky she thinks they need to go separate ways for a bit. And then she goes to will and he tells her he’s sorry he doubted her feelings and put her in harm and she’s sorry she lied. And he tells her about southpaw and then we’re in the epilogue 6 months later and he’s her husband. She shows up to his work to surprise him and play the part of his call girl. She lives with him now but he’s been busy with work and she’s hardly seen him. She needs her husband. He helped adjust her to his lifestyle by taking her to where he used to live and proposing. While she’s in his office now he tells her they’re going to La to see her brother but also the gambling hall he shut down is switching owners. He’s giving it to mara. She had told him a story how mara stood up for her and he never forgot it and wanted to reward her for standing up for his girl back then. He says this will only be a 3 day weekend but soon he’ll be able to take more time off. And she confesses to him how she actually got into his room in Dallas was breaking through the window and asks if they can make a pit stop and he says done and that’s the end. This was a really quick and good audio book. And my last stand alone by Tessa Bailey I had left to read. I really enjoyed it. The title “follow” is good. She had always followed Nicky to protect him and landed herself in this mess and then Will was willing to follow her to take care of her and be with her and in the end he saved her. In the end he was able to save her and Nicky both and the conflict could have been avoided if she had just been truthful. But they have to have some kind of crazy conflict. I’m so thankful south paw isn’t actually sick that was such a good change of events that he’ll be okay. And Theresa is able to follow her dreams of film school while living in luxury with will. Happy ending all around.

I've been working on Tessa Bailey's backlist since swooning over her Bellinger Sisters duology. In searching for titles of hers to read, I came across this audiobook.
This book DID NOT disappoint. The chemistry here is SCORCHING and I kind of loved the insta love feelings they both had.
I also love how supportive Will is with Teresa's fantasies. He never makes her feel gross for them, he just does what he can to show her that whatever she needs from him, he'll provide.
The narration here is also excellent!
