Ugh, this book is PAINFULLY American (*derogatory*)…
Everything is so superficial, and the FMC is super annoying. She’s, like, sooo unique and not at all like other girls, except she’s like every other basic white girl ever, right down to her shallow insecurities. 🙄 For half the book I was thinking Cara was not even close to good enough for Ryan, but then we got to the third-act breakup, and yeah, no. They’re both trash.
Also, the book excerpts that Cara supposedly writes are terrible, and they serve no purpose in the book besides being aggravating.
I regret not DNFing this book; that’s several hours of my life I’ll never get back. I could’ve read a book that’s actually good.

Very high stakes drama & tension. I enjoyed it, very 'star-crossed' lovers sort of feel.

A cute second chance romance. The twists and turns are not ones that made me root for them to be together and that’s the only reason why it’s not 5 stars. I just ended up feeling like the protagonist could do better (Liam!) but then she didn’t. Also the epilogue felt unnecessary.
But it was cute and had a sweet happily ever after with a book inside a book which I loved. It’s a good beach read for sure.

It could’ve been one of my favourite reads this year but the last 100 pages or so ruined the book for me.

up to like the 65% mark, i would have given this 3 stars, but then this whole book descended into annoyance for me
