PS, I love you. You made me cry, and giggle a bit but you're no more than an emotional chick lit book. Although there is nothing wrong with chick lit. Its a genre that many people read. I always find chick lits hit and miss for me.
This one was a hit for the most part. I didn't hate everything but I certainly didn't love everything either. I think the reason this book effected me the way it did was because I lost my mother last year and grief is grief no matter who it is. So although I didn't lose a spouse, and the girl didn't lose her mother, losing a loved one is still so so so hard and thus anything that is remotely sad can be related to your grief no matter what.
Take for example her melt down at the library where she needed him but of course couldn't speak to him. That was pretty much me for 90% of my remaining degree course. I needed her but I couldn't find her and I couldn't hear her voice telling me to calm down and it'l be OK. So that part of the book had me sitting in the loo crying my eyes out during work.
I liked the fact that this book made me cry (whoa what?) but I also didn't like the fact it made me cry. I knew it was going to and this is why its taken me so long to read the book and the firm decision from even before I read this book to never watch the film. I do think although I haven't seen Mr Gerald Butler playing the male lead? in the film he was still the person I envisioned rightly or wrongly as the lovely husband sending his wife notes.
Sadly apart from the fact this book effected me personally I didn't love it. Grief books are exactly the opposite of books I want or should read. I'm an emotional person anyway but this just makes everything so much worse. I'm very glad she didn't end up with the first guy she met he was always a little sleazy in my opinion but I'm also very happy she got to be happy even if it was just happy with herself.
Oh and a side noted - THANK THE LORD IT WAS SET IN ANOTHER COUNTRY OTHER THAN AMERICA. PRAISE THE BOOK GODS

I think it's a great compliment to be able to call this book "Marian Keyes lite," since the only reaon Cecelia Ahern got so much attention for her first novel is her relation to the Prime Minister of Ireland. However, the story of how a young widow deals with the loss of her beloved husband is neither overwraught nor overly twee, despite what the cover might lead you to believe. Fans of the movie will definitely enjoy it, even though it was a radically different story.
De los peores libros que he leído. Me costó tanto acabarlo y pensé muchísimas veces en dejarlo.
Llegue a este libro porque quería leer algo romántico, francamente solo me guié por el título de esta obra “Posdata, te amo”. Me parecía hermoso.
No se dejen guiar por el título, este libro contiene 0.1% romance. El único personaje rescatable es Gerry. Es súper romántico y dulce

I just picked this up from the library and quickly realized that I had already read it.
Let's start by saying that 'P.s. I love you' is by far my most favorite movie, I could watch it twice in a row without being ashamed to say so. Of course I was pretty excited to read the book and once I found it, I had to add it to my collection.
But in all honesty, I was a bit disappointed. First off the differences with the movie were huge, suddenly Holly was blonde and had two brothers and a dad that was still around... And what a huge disappointed when it turns out they lived in Ireland all along so the famous trip to his birthplace never happened. Holly meeting William was the part I was looking forward to the most, turns out there's no William.
Maybe if I hadn't seen the movie a thousand times my review would've been a lot different. The story is still good, sometimes a bit long, but I really miss the Gerry from the movie. The letters seemed way to short as well, always just a few lines. I don't know, I'm biased. Didn't even cry...
