Okay so I am a little iffy about this series. I really like the unique ideas about the animals and maybe the events that happened. But what really makes me bored is really the writing and characters. Sometimes the writing I can't imagine the places and of what's going on really well, what really plays in my mind is similar to a kind of cartoon.
Also the characters make me a little frustrated at times. It seems that their personality isn't developed well enough. For instance, when Tarik dies for Rollan to escape I felt a little sad, but I didn't cry. Most of the time I bawl my eyes out even when it's a side character or someone you don't see often, but the reason I must have felt a little sad is because he has always been there and it didn't feel right for him to just...die.
Normally I would give three stars but I did four because it went a little off balance in the end with Tarik dead, Meilin captured, and only two talismans when the Conquerors have the rest. I felt the plotting of it deserved one more star.
