loved this volume so much. Asuka has always been one of my favorite Evangelion characters and it surprised me how the manga goes deeper into her past, but it explains the way she behaves so much more. from delving into the manga, it becomes evident that it offers a fresh perspective and adds more context. one notable difference was in this volume where Asuka reveals to Shinji the real reason the evangelion units are utilized in the series. I was also shocked to see Adam's early introduction in the manga (or his remains at least...), but these moments add more depth to the narrative as well as contributing to the clarity of past events and character dispositions. while the anime itself is a masterpiece, the pacing and dense (usually unexplored) themes can leave viewers feeling puzzled about specific plot details; the manga, however, is given time to flesh out these details and provide clearer insight.

if you're a fan of the anime and find yourself grappling with its enigmatic elements, i recommend you give the manga a read. it can serve as a guide and fill out gaps to deepen your understanding of the series.

Just when Shinji was getting comfortable, Asuka, the brash pilot of Eva 02, shows up and throws a wrench into the works. Can she and Shinji get along well enough to work together?

Things are coming together. Asuka really livens things up in Shinji's life, both in the Evangelion and out. After some mishaps, they're forced to live in the same quarters and learn a choreographed dance routine in order to learn to work together. Hilarity ensues.

The addition of Asuka to the cast is a huge improvement on previous volumes. While I was originally interested in the series because of the giant robots, the characters have me hooked. I guess I'll grab a few more next time I'm at the used bookstore. Four out of five stars.

Piirtotyyli on upea!

Asuka is a fine addition to the team—the character archetype that looks high and mighty but hides a deep scar. It made the story rowdier than ever! And the monkey boys (Kensuke, Shinji, and Toji) are so hilarious! Also, the dance practice is so fun to read. Also, I adore the love-hate vibe going on with Katsuragi and Kaji (if only Kaji wasn't so flirty with girls, I'd love him even more, but I kinda ship them.)
