I have read this book 2 times.
ESP:
ENG:
It is good. It is about the Second World War/Holocaust in Denmark. A priori it is an interesting book and not badly written. The point is that it is a book for children around 10/12 years old, so the writing is very simple, the book is quite short and doesn't go into much depth. There are a lot of things that maybe you can only understand as an adult, but it still seems like a story that anyone could write. I think it's a good way to introduce children to this tragic part of history, or to learn a few things about this country, like the headscarf or the transporting of Jews on ships to Sweden. Other than that, it's not going to give you much new.

This is the best book I’ve ever read in my life! I have first read it in fourth grade, and I have read it at least 20 times since. 🩷 I’m in 8th grade now
Wow. Almost everyone on my friend's list has read this book and I somehow missed it until this week. I went to the library to check out The Giver but this was the only Lowry book they had checked in at the time. Somehow I missed this book as a child, but I wish that I had read it then! Great book, interesting story and characters, and mostly based on true stories! This would be a fantastic book to introduce children to the Holocaust and I'm sure it would promote lots of discussion. It was a fast read and I'm glad I read it.
