Definitely did not expect those twists! I like how this author mentions his past characters.

I did not expect the multiple twists at the end.

Not gonna lie, I had a hard time getting through the first section of this book. And then once it started to get good, I finished in two days.

I loved the ending between Walt and Avery.

Okayyyyy Charlie *claps*. This is my second book by him, and this one was overall good as well. I was pretty much hooked from the jump. Cold case, true crime vibes, and a resort murder mystery kept me going with just the right amount of suspense.

I loved the dual timelines and the investigative angle with Avery. She’s flawed, fierce, and kind of messy in a good way. And the way things tie back to the 9/11 remains identification? Super creative and emotional without being too heavy-handed.
The ending packed a punch and made the journey worth it.

Definitely a solid 4 stars. This one was worth my time.
