It was a really good book, I liked the beginning alot and had some high expectations based on the promo it was given on Booktok and Bookstagram. The ending felt really rushed though. I feel like we got alot of depth on Alaska as a character but not Zuko, sure we got some of his back story but it wasn't enough to feel drawn to him in my opinion. It was still a pretty good book and was definitely well written, I just could use another couple hundred pages towards the end to round it out better. Excited for the twins books!

Yet another quick and smutty read. Zuko can be my baby daddy. He is sexy and hot and will kill anyone who touches Alaska. Loved this book.

I'm hooked! This is the first I've heard of this author, and I've been missing out. Dark, delicious, twisted, and extra spicy - it's perfection. The writing style and pace sucked me in and I didn't want to put it down.

I have a hard time rating this book. Because on the one hand I enjoyed reading it and read it in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down. On the other hand I have so many problems with it, that I can't count them all.

So I guess I go for solid three stars.

The first part of the book got me hooked. I loved the dynamic, connection and banter between Alaska and Zuko. And then, I don't know exactly when it went wrong for me, but TL Smith somehow lost me. That hasn't happened in the past, which really surprised me.

Some of my problems are:
- Why did Zuko did not recognize her voice? Did she use some kind of voice filter that I missed?
- The drama with Sarah just felt forced to me.
- What the heck happened at the masked party? How did this add to the storyline and what was this party exactly for, that it was so important but ended in a mess?
- I expected more out of the fact that Alaska hid her second identity from Zuko and him finding out. It was inserted into the story like "oh, I almost forgot there was something to be lifted".

... I could go on like this with more questions I have, but I'll stop here.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed the characters Alaska and Zuko and I'm definitely intrigued by Zuko's brothers Kyson and Kenzo so that I'll come back to the Hunter brothers, wanting more of this world.
