The Younger Wife

This was a fun book about a dysfunctional family with grown children and the new wife-to-be. Told from multiple perspectives and starts with the wedding day, but mostly told from the year leading up to the big day.
This book makes you thankful for your “normal” family

Pretty good. I wasn't a huge fan of the kleptomaniac story line but it did have me wondering/doubting through the end. Also I was bugged with the plot hole of the dad's "tell" when he's lying... Couldn't the daughters have solved this whole thing by asking questions and checking for the tell?!

Much more family drama than mystery and definitely not suspenseful at all. I still enjoyed it though. Some pretty dark stuff comes up and every character's fighting some kind of demon. I do wish Rachel had been given more credit than to just find a nice, good looking boy to "fix her". She was the most interesting character by far and I think she was done a bit of a disservice.
The Fiona Arthur (Andrews? I already can't remember) subplot was 100% pointless and the ending was also a bit silly. I'm not sure I'm sold on
how everyone suddenly realised they'd been lied to by the way someone was held.
Come on now...

A quick read with interesting characters, There are some serious issues at play here, that I will say are not necessarily tackled head on. There's a glossy lighthearted vibe throughout, but in a way that mirrors how the family dealt with everything. Definitely closer to a 3 star rating, but I got through it fast, and I like Sally Hepworths writing, so I rounded up.
