Another eh read. Wasn't sure what I was expecting but it was a lot of nothing happening. And the MC was just so young. Similar style as her other book (which I had to look back on my rating for) and realized now I don't want to read her works bc of the MCs.

hey, so, where was scarlett’s anger?? i was feeling RAGE at the end, and here she was as a wet rag. all these random ass people traumatized you (and your SISTER??? ffs) and you just cry a little then immediately accept it??? WTF?????? as someone who has been traumatized, i would’ve liked to seen some anger, self-isolation, and depression. i KNOW this is YA, but i’ve read other YA where there is accurate trauma/PTSD representation. i specifically wanted anger because that would’ve been cathartic for me, but the ending just felt like a wet rag. and i still gave this 4 stars LOL

idk about this one

[2.5] for a world that was supposed to be magical, it felt underwhelming; character, worlbuilding and plot wise (it was also quite predictable)

however all that being said, julian was such a good character idc if i'm biased
