When I saw what this book was about, I was amazed. The idea seemed super original to me. a group of teenagers obsessed with academic success. their only problem being getting into ivy legue schools. Our characters will do anything to increase their chances of being selected. Now, was the book as spectacular as I imagined? No. I give it a score of 3.5 stars. It is a quick book, entertaining to read, but it has some flaws. The characters have 0 development, Avery is the only exception, but even so it is almost non-existent. I couldn't empathize with Olivia, our main character. The rest of the characters seem somewhat insignificant, such as Margot and Sierra. The ending was predictable, and the plot development felt rushed. Removing these obstacles, the book is fun, it reads quickly. Likewise, I consider that there are better ones for mystery lovers.

I was only 3 percent in and there were already 3 F bombs and lots of other swearing. No thanks.
Toxic Achievement Culture. I think that’s the official term for the hyper-competitiveness that describes today’s college application situation. So I was a little intrigued by a novel where the main characters are back stabbing mean girls who do everything to get into the Ivies. Including *gasp* murder!?! The novel is a black comedy or maybe satire meant to show how absurd the private school college admissions process is. And I finished it, so that means it was mildly readable. But the trope can only take the story so far. In this case it wore thin when the actual writing was lacking. I’m also not a great fan of murder mysteries even when dove well. In the end, most of the characters weren’t that likable, and that translates to the book being not that likable either.
