Eye opening read. Not one I would have ever picked up on my own, but a well-respected professional I know recommended I read. Glad I did.

As a former federal employee, I understood why there were so many acronyms and wasn’t put off by all the acronyms, but my one critique is the author may have gone a touch overboard.

I learned about this book from a late night talk show and started thinking, "Seriously? The government is admitting aliens are real?" I figured I better read to find out more.

In this book, Luis Elizondo shares his life story, beginning with his early childhood experiences, extending to how he met his wife, and, importantly, his career. After serving in the army, Luis is drawn to military intelligence and quickly works his way up to pentagon-level administrative duties. About twenty years before this book was published, he accepted a position overseeing a department within the Pentagon that investigates military accounts of UAF sightings. He studies, networks, and assembles a program to collect data and evidence. Ultimately, he decides to leave the pentagon so that he can take on a more public-facing role sharing about what he's learned.

This is for sure a non-fiction book -- full of names, dates, and an abundance of acronyms. Despite its dramatic content, the story reads as well-reasoned.

I got a decent way into it and realized it wasn’t for me. It focused a lot more on the author’s childhood and upbringing than what I thought it would and I picked it up to read about Aliens so it was a bit off putting.

It wasn't about the topic it advertised itself to be. It was more a memoir of the author's life.
