Absolutely fascinating, hilarious, and eye-opening account of growing up in Apartheid-era South Africa.

A different kind of autobiography, but it feels genuine.

It doesn't really explain / sensationalize how Trevor Noah became "TREVOR NOAH!".

What it does is give a small piece of background information & growing up, which may explain Noah's origins & mentality. As such, this is a compelling piece, which makes the reader thirst for more and then be sad that it ended "pre-maturely".

It's almost like a cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book.

Really about the relationship between a mother and son.  Very moving, funny, and with a strong voice.

My jump into non fiction with an autobiography and I loved it, it was fun and information well told and well written. Trevor Noah tells us what it was like being a mixed kid grown up in South Africa during apartheid

A fabulous memoir. I really appreciated his insight into race and culture. Highly recommend.
