This is, so far, the best book in the series! I struggle with a bit of word choice and plot development but overall, an amazing read!

I think Rebecca’s writing is improving with this book! I found myself annoyed with Xaden and Violet’s relationship throughout the book. They just don’t seem to be compatible, and I had a hard time rooting for them. They just have a lot of toxic traits I don’t like. I also wish there was more focus on the fantasy than the romance, but I also understand that’s why it’s a romantasy lol.

This is still a good book compared to many but I am coming off the high of the first two and it just wasn’t as good. There were times I was hoping a chapter would just end. It just seemed to drag in parts. The ending will 100% keep me in this series. I can’t believe I was left like that and can’t wait for the next book!

The last half of the book was great! The beginning was slow and failed to hooked me in. I’m glad I pushed through learning all the new characters. There are still some I don’t know 😂.
Cliff hanger ending! Great set up for the next book.

Violet Sorrengail went through a lot in this book! Fear, self-doubt, loss... the usual! There's more travel in Oynx Storm and it was interesting to learn more about other lands and customs. However, several supporting characters were left behind. I'm hoping Rebecca Yarros doesn't spend the next book going back to write their stories like SJM did with the ToF series. As much as they were missed, we just need to move forward and find out what happens with Xaden!
