Lots of world building needed to happen, and it did. Not the fastest book, but still solid as a way to move from the small world of the college to the rest of the continent.

Kinda confused about the Dunne stuff. We don’t know enough about their gods for it to make sense, although I could see RY trying to build up to it with their trip.

The ending cliffhanger though- wow. Predicted a lot of that, missed a good bit.

This one was disappointing after the first 2. It started picking up in the last little bit just to leave on a massive cliffhanger. I feel like she bit off too much with this one it felt like a parade of characters and places and it just didn’t mesh well for me. Still looking forward to the 4th book.

DID NOT FINISH: 39%

The mechanics of the world are overly complicated (as opposed to engagingly complex). The chemistry between Violet and Xaden has always felt tenuous to me. Thought I’d power through the third book, but then found out that there are going to be five in the series and decided to cut my losses. I’ll admit that I don’t love the narrator of these audiobooks so maybe that’s colouring my feelings.

Enjoyed how much the world expanded in this book, the character development, the ending, and the romance of course. And we got a few reveals we’ve been waiting for! But I do agree that this book is quite fillery and the Isle Kingdoms part felt pretty dragged out, also the ending was honestly kind of confusing? But I don’t mind that, it adds some mystery!

Also there are so many characters which was a little confusing, especially when dragons are just named with no reference to their rider.

Fourth Wing remains my favourite in the series but I do really enjoy all of them! I cannot wait to listen to Fantasy Fangirls dissect this lol
