The timeline of this book was very strange. In the beginning, everything was slow, but the ending was too hasty, in my opinion.
Also, the next time Violet says, "She is the greatest weapon," followed by a descriptive paragraph of how fragile she really is, I am going to lose it.
I love the romance, but in the end, it was annoying how repetitive everything was. We get it: Xaden and Violet would do anything for each other, but it's stupid that the whole mission could probably fail because of their love dilemma, especially with the constant repetition of the same phrases.

im so happy this book is done. I found the twists predictable and flat, the characters annoying, the characters I actually liked showed up too little, and the book dissapointing. eventually it felt like a poor wattpad version of the first book. I lost count if how many times Violet was "proved smarter and cooler and stronger" than all the other characters and lost count of how many times people were awed at her ability to talk back to the teacher and how many times everyone clapped for her. Violet especially dissapointe  me. in the first book, she was weak and wasent able to do many of the things her peers could do. I enjoyed that struggle, it felt different. I liked watching her wit make up for what her lack of physical prowess provided. now, Violet just feels annoying. everything she does is imoortant. she is the coolest, smartest, most powerful, important, and fearsome rider ever. everyone looks to her for decisions despite her not knowing anything about war or leadership. the author is too scared to give Violet flaws and too scared to kill off characters so now everything is predictable and genuinley annoying. if youre looking for similar literature, id reccomend wattpad
