Not super fun to read, kind of dry. I also found the start to be a lot of catastrophizing that from my knowledge of ecology and climate is not entirely convincing and I don’t think necessary. I also am not sure why it is so important that this has to come from Marx rather than his additions to it. I did appreciate though the critique of “climate Maoism” aka authoritarianism and the move towards some level of worker led/citizen-led organization, but I find it deeply optimistic to believe that this will naturally lead to better outcomes in a similar way to believing the market will magically do that. I thus ended up with a lot of remaining questions but appreciated the examples at the end that makes some of these ideas more concrete.
Good. Interesting. Overwhelmingly anxiety inducing. I agree with like 99% of the stuff in this book, and really like how the author formulates his thesis, but there does seem to be a lack of realism here. 2nd and 3rd steps of the implementation are glazed over. Policy change is without opposition. I guess what I am trying to say is - yes I love it woo woo woo, but like can we ACTUALLY do this??

A really compelling and insightful analysis of how we got in this situation and where we can go provided we acknowledge and make right on the Global North's part in climate change. This clarified and challenged a lot of my thinking on a deeply concerning issue.
