Ugh, another awful one. The writing was good, but the plot just killed it. I didn't find the twists very exciting at all.

I really liked the first 4/5th of the book... but the ending... I'm not going to write any spoilers but I disliked it a lot.

The first part was amazing though.

It took me a few chapters to get into the book but once I did, I found it enthralling. The writing style reminds me a lot of my favorite author Ruth Rendell and the novels she wrote under the name of Barbara Vine. The Vine novels are compelling and mesmerizing psychological tales that keep you guessing until the end. "The Poison Tree" which alternates between present and past and reveals subtle character traits that slowly build throughout the book. I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to reading more of her books.

Engrossing tale of a naive young woman befriended by an unconventional brother and sister living in a crumbling London townhouse, until a tragedy ends their summer idyll.

I enjoyed this book! I didn't predict the twist which is always a bonus. Good writing and kept me gripped. Can't wait to read the next one!

Per usual, Erin Kelly did not disappoint.
