OMG……Damien….Dream! I was fighting for my life reading this book.

Pros:
First, this is the first “urban romance” book I’ve read and I avoided it for 2 reasons, 1. Contrary to popular belief, I DO judge a book by its cover. And 2. It add the word “demon” in its title. I have a southern pastor as my grandmother and I don’t play that LOL!
But this book…was so much more than I expected. The story line was on point, the POVs, the characters. When Damien and Dream were going through it, I told my fiancé, “I just want them to get right already, I feel like they may friends and they getting on my nerves!” But seriously, this book will have you like that. If I had the time, I would’ve probably read this in one sitting.

Some of it was a little corny but it was balanced right out by just a good dialogue and story line. I love love stories and especially love stories that are a “we are secretly-OBVIOUSLY-love each other but we’re getting in our own way” and this was it. I wish I could read it again for the first time. Now…I will think twice before judging the cover of a book. PLUS, booktok ain’t never did me wrong!

Cons:
While few, it’s still a few…
This is probably an unpopular opinion but I didn’t really care for Dayana and Smoke’s story line. Yes, it intertwined with Damien and Dream but it was just like everytime it came to their POV, either something just happened with D&D and I wanted to read was happened next or I just didn’t feel like reading about them. It just felt like an unnecessary story that could’ve been in the background. I don’t know…I still screamed of happiness at that “come here” though…TOP TIER WRITING!!!

Lastly, I hated how this book ended, not because of what happened but I would either Damien or Dream’s POV. I also think D&D’s POVs ended abruptly and could’ve been written a little better.

But overall, I would recommend this book to anyone trying to get into this genre. It’s really really good….

Damien and Dream will always be in my heart!!! (Ol’ simp ass) :)

This enjoyed this a lot. Solidly giving this 3.5 stars. The characters were so well developed and consistent throughout the book. I just thought it could have used tighter editing-specifically with pacing and plot progression.

I feel that the story was a little long and dragged out but overall still a good read. (I think it could’ve been cut by at least least 200 pages)
