Chiiiiiiile…the book would’ve been over in about 30 pages if it were ME! Yes, I am a reader who puts herself in the book sometimes. My brother’s life would just have to come to whatever conclusion those people had for him or face the consequences of marrying that girl…because no. I have to put my life and body on the line for YOU and your shenanigans, sir? No. I would’ve worked, found a house, with Dayana and went about my business. But that’s not the book and I’m glad it wasn’t. 😉
I crashed out in a few DMs because there’s no way this toxic situation is love. I had an entire slide dedicated to it. My issue was that Dream & Dayana were not making these men work for anything. They were getting their way at every turn at the expense of the women. I love a feisty woman but to get an order from a man, snap on him about it, then give into him with sex is not giving strong FMC.
However, when Dream and Day did stand up and get their backbone, I applauded them because I witnessed their growth.
Damien and Smoke. Wow. What a backstory. When Damien told his story, I understood in a way that I wanted to protect him from his thoughts and himself. I would’ve loved to see and learn more of his artistry.
Smoke and Dayana? When she found her voice with him, I was so proud of her. She refused to compete. My heart broke at what happened to my girl physically. But I could read a book about those two alone. Loved 🥰
Damien & Dream? Her letter to him was one of the most emotionally intelligent acts of a character I’ve seen in a book. She asked the questions I was crashing out about. She stood her ground. She saw him love others in different forms and she knew she deserved to be loved.

HA! I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. The hype is definitely real surrounding this book. It was top tier entertainment!

Wow!! 🤩🤩🤩 I loved this book so my. Don’t let the page count fool you, these 750 pages went by fast and were worth EVERY page. Not a single one was wasted. The characters are dynamic and complex. The plot was strong with appropriate twists and turns that keep you sucked in. Even though this was a series in itself (chile 😮💨), I want more!

DNF @ 27%. It’s so unbearable. There’s some weird fetish with virgins that’s sooo weird and the scenes of losing their virginity is cringey and a little r*pey. I can’t get through this. Maybe I’ll circle around but this isn’t for me.
