DNF @ 27%. It’s so unbearable. There’s some weird fetish with virgins that’s sooo weird and the scenes of losing their virginity is cringey and a little r*pey. I can’t get through this. Maybe I’ll circle around but this isn’t for me.

I had such high expectations for this book and I’m not ashamed to say IT DELIVERED!!! Damien is my best mafia boyfriend. I appreciate how the author blended the sisters’ love stories without one overshadowing the other. I mean yes the book was about Dream and Damien but following Dayana and Smoke’s story was such a lovely trip.
I just really loved this book. There’s me before I read this book and me after. Ugh this book is going to be on my mind for a really long time ❤️

(Disclosure this is my first Elle Kayson Novel) This was a book club selection and was not a bad one. I have to be honest and say it was pretty predictable as Urban Hood Legends go, closed off boy meets pampered princess with over bearing father but at least it wasn't another "Flint" or "Detroit" based novel and that was refreshing. Even with its predictability Elle Kayson does a excellent job of keeping a reader engaged until the very end, especially in the urban world of 50,000 words or less and wait until the next 50,000 she did a great job of leaving no stone unturned and completing this novel. This book actually ends and leaves room to continue at the same time which is a rarity.
I did throughly enjoy the men in this novel Demon and Smoke tickled me into quite a few Laugh out Loud moments. One of my favorite moments was when Dream and Demon got a little spicy and he told her she was going to have the headboard imprinted on her forehead, she told him she couldn't go to work like that he then told her she better try some bangs. She thought about it and said I guess I can do some bangs. I hollered.
I would recommend this novel who loves a gangster story with some spice. Great Job Ella Kayson.
