I liked this book and learning more about Kristen's life.
Like many who will come to read this book, I wanted to because I have been a fan of her as a contestant on Top Chef--now judge, and on Iron Chef on Netflix. I love how this book touches on that part of her story, but so much more. We learn about her adoption, her parents and life growing up, how watching 'Notting Hill' helped her find a piece of herself, and how she found her place in the culinary world as a queer Asian woman in a male-dominated industry, we also learn some about her interesting modeling career. The way the book was written was easy to follow, and I found myself wanting to read more.
Thanks to Little Brown and Company and Netgalley for the early Arc.

This was an engrossing and, at many times, a delightful memoir. Kristen Kish takes you from her adoption from Korea at four months old, all the way to her becoming the host of Top Chef. If you are a fan of the show, you’ll enjoy this book.
Kristen Kish narrated her memoir and she was wonderful. I especially loved that she got teary and choked up when reading about proposing to and marrying her wife. I’m so glad that the audio producers left her wobbling voice and little sniffs in—so sweet!

At times very touching, especially when you can hear tears in her voice at the hard stuff, or the beautiful stuff. But this book also did a dance of moving from first person narration (personal and interesting) to 2nd and 3rd person generalizations about how the world works, or should work, etc (which I found jarring and a little forced, like writing a thesis statement and 3 supporting ideas for school). It was interesting to hear her story, as I only know her from her contestant time on Top Chef. I'm glad she found love and can be authentically herself in public and private.
