This book took a while to finish because it is epic. And because I was listening to the audio with my husband and sometimes it is really hard to find quiet moments without kid interruptions to listen to books. However I enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed Seveneves though in a very different way.
The ending did not disappoint and I am so glad I went ahead and finished this book without hubby who had moved on. I will never forget things like diachronic sheer and is a unique look at parallel worlds and time travel with the humor of the St. Mary Chronicles.

Something that happens in this book: Vikings travel through time and attack a Walmart. If that idea appeals to you, then I highly suggest reading this book. 5/5. I hope this writing team turns this into a series.
This book is a crazy mashup of cool shit. I couldn’t stop reading it, and the concept is so cool!

Tot nu toe met plezier alle Stephensons gelezen (met Quicksilver trilogie wel als hoogtepunt en Mongoliad en Cyrptonicon als goede tweede), maar dit verhaal is geloof ik me toch te kluchtig. En misschien ook toch wat te dik (maar voor een Stephenson is 'ie best dun...)
Wel weer behoorlijk goed geresearched (in zoverre dat kan bij tijdreizen ;-) maar teveel aandacht op (zwaard)vechten (een van zijn hobbies).
De mede-auteur (overigens ook een van de Mongoliad auteurs) zal met name voor het andere "gevoel" van het boek hebben gezorgd.

I think I would have enjoyed this a bit more if I’d been able to read this myself instead of listening to the audiobook—but there are some scenes that are just hilariously spectacular done via audiobook!!

A very interesting prospect for a novel. I listened to audio and the narrators did a fine job. My complaint was the length- there always seemed so little to be happening. Stephenson, as always, creates an entire and believable world including a large number of details.
