🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ There were a lot of repetitive thoughts or parts I think the author was trying to reiterate why the main characters couldn't be together - the story could have done less with that, and Emery's feelings. I'm glad though the "resolution conversations" didn't drag out too long. Very cute plot and main characters. Evan absolutely stole my heart.

I really like this author but the writing of the kid character is soooo bad. Like have you met a real 3 year old before?
Other than that I liked the story! I felt like things were a bit unfinished but overall it was tied up decently. The overall story was interesting and the characters were fun! If you like Romance it’s great but I feel like the hockey and single parent aspect were kind of on the back burner.

Change on the Fly, a best friend’s brother, insta-family, single dad, secret relationship, hockey romance by Maren Moore is everything!
Reed, a professional hockey player for the Chicago Avalanche. He doesn’t do relationships for fear of turning out like his father. When he suddenly gains custody of his nephew Evan, Reed turns to Holland, his sweet neighbor, for help. Holland has always been hopelessly in love with Reed for years, but hasn’t told him out of courtesy for her best friend and Reed’s sister. While Reed has to travel for this season, Holland and Evan travel with him. Holland and Reed’s sexual tension boils over and for the duration of the season they embark on a secret relationship guided by rules. Of course things don’t always work out as you think they will and you have to change on the fly.
“You don’t stop, you change what you have to finish out the game.”
After meeting Reed in The Newspaper Nanny, I was really hoping we’d get his story and Maren delivered. Reed is everything! He’s sexy, selfless, caring, generous, hot and has a heart of gold! Holland is a kind-hearted, funny, sweet, selfless, and quintessential BFF. Both Reed and Holland care so much about their family and friends. That is one of the things that makes them so perfect for each other!
Holland and Reed are so cute together! Not to mention their little family with Evan is so beautiful. I love the details, the small, yet meaningful interactions between the characters, and the overall character development as the book progressed. I already loved Reed before Change on the Fly, but I love him so much more as a dad!
I highly recommend this cute, fun, yet steamy romance! I devoured it in one sitting! Bring on the next book in the Totally Pucked series, Briggs’ book! I need my next dose of Maren’s hot heroes and sweet heroines!
