“Change on the fly. You don’t stop, you change what you have to and finish out the game.”

As my first book from this author, I had a good time reading this fast paced, best friend’s brother, hockey romance

Essentially we follow Reed, a professional hockey player as he gains sole guardianship over his nephew after a tragic incident with his half sister. Not knowing how to raise a toddler, Reed enlists the help of Holland, his sister’s best friend. The forced proximity aspect allows the two to grow close and we see their relationship go from 0-100, or rather bloom, from there.

I wish we got to see more of the hockey aspect in here, but MM does give us a little sprinkle. It’s definitely a bit insta lovey/lusty, but I didn’t mind too much in this case.

I wasn’t expecting to get misty eyed, but there were some scenes that had me patting the tears away and I always love a good emo moment while reading.

Overall, this was an enjoyable and quick read! I hope to continue this series soon.

Look. Sometimes you're in a book rut. And you need a book to take you out of it. That was this for me. Don't judge the cover. Don't judge the name of the series. You read these books for a fun time and that's what this was. It was cute, you get visits from some fun characters you've read about in the past (hey Liam and Juliet), AND YOURE WONDERING WHAT'S GOING ON WITH BRIGGS!!! I wish we got a bit of closure with Reed's dad - that felt missing. Evan was adorable. I love how the conflict doesn't last that long, I'm not that stressed lol. Epilogue was cute. Overall, a fun quick read - now I just have to pick out my next one. Okay that's all for now! Just remember! Judgement free zone!

This… this was not that great. I don’t know if it’s because this was my first Maren Moore book but I felt like I had no idea who these characters were and we were told things rather than shown things. It moved so quickly and was so dramatic and was mostly just sex? I mean if that’s your thing then okay but I like a little plot with my smut.
