Ugh I love this play because not only does it have themes of male power, misogyny, and young relationships, but has guys with donkey heads and fairy drugs

this feels like shakespeare was on drugs when he wrote it but it is still very fun

This play is ass! I am such a Midsummer Night's Dream hater. The plot changes on a whim because of all the love potions and spells and all that abritrary nonsense, no character's decision reliably leads to any predictable outcome because of the fairies, it's just a disjointed mess. Why should I care what any character does or thinks when they spend half the play either under a spell, or in a dream, or believing they're in a dream but they're not actually...it just sucks.

i’m willing to say that this is my new favorite shakespeare play!

"And sleep that sometimes shuts up sorrow's eye, steal me awhile from mine own company."

Reading this stole me awhile from mine own company, and will now have me saying "Hold or cut bow strings" every time I'm supposed to meet up with somebody. Because it just sounds cool. Anyways, I love Helena.
