The foundation that the story was built on wasn't the most logical one. But I loved the story nonetheless. Because regardless of the logic and stuff, the feelings just hit home. And I truly wanted to see Bryce and Bron happy by the end of the story.
The one scene that abruptly pulled me out of my reading slump:
When Bryce looked up and saw her he was struck as still as a statue.
The one quote that I absolutely loved the most:
But in the end, perfection for me was having you to myself in a private place where I could beg you to end my miserable, lonely existence without you.
Note to Self:
This author? Yeah, her writing style is definitely addictive. This is the second time that one of her books have pulled me out of a slump.

ok ok ok
This was a solid three star until the middle. Like, very hard to believe that??? But honestly, the more I read, the more I got absorbed with the soap opera-like details of the story. Reality be damned.
I still am not a huge fan of Natasha Anders' writing style BUT I keep coming back to her stories. I don't know why. It's kind of like eating an entire pizza by yourself at dinner. Feels great while you are doing it but every once and awhile you are like "wtf is wrong with me? why am I doing this with my life?" The pizza was good, nothing to write home about, made me happy in the moment.
4-star book by the end. Bryce redeemed himself without really doing a whole lot of work and tbh, if these two just TALKED ever, this book would have never happened. But whatever, personal growth. I had a fun time and didn't skim-read to the end, so the three star bumped up to four. Natasha Anders always has great IDEAS for her plots, which is probably why I keep coming back. Idk who could ever go deaf with NO OTHER TRAUMA from a car accident, but fuck it, Bobby dying was a dream in Dallas so I guess anything can work here in the land of make-believe.
I like a book that makes you hate everyone until the halfway point and this was it.

I'm not going to lie but this book was a bit hard to finish. I was really vibing with it until I got to like 70% and I was just tired of Bronwyn. I think this might just be a me thing since know that I think about it, she was just trying to move on with her life while also being in love with Bryce. I just got tired of the repetition of Bronwyn having the same discussion with herself but I do think that she really made Bryce earn her trust.
Bryce was definitely an asshole from the beginning and he does make up for it later but I really wanted to him to beg because he really made Bronwyn feel like she was the dirt under his shoes. Does he grovel? Yeah but there's honestly nothing that he could've done to make up for the things he said since he was just annoying most of the time.
Overall, this was an ok book and I think my rating is mostly on the fact that I was tired of the repeating fights that Bronwyn and Bryce would have. Also, I was hoping for this to be similar to the first book in the series but there was just something missing. I didn't have high hopes for this book and I really just went into it not knowing anything but the synopsis. However, I really thought that I was going to like it but this one was just ok. If you do end up reading it, I hope that you like it and give me your thoughts on it.
