Amazing writing style! I don't know why the whole first page of other people's reviews are bad- I loved it!

Nobody has poor world building. It doesn't say when the story takes place. The only hint at the year is that the Society has been studying nobodies for thousands of years. And even that's a broad hint. Nothing else seems like it's in the future, though. The world seems as it is now. So, your guess is as good as mine for what kind of year we are looking at, if it even is set in the future...

I thought this book was just okay all around. Nothing was developed overly well, but nothing was extremely poorly done either. Everything just fell somewhere in the middle.

I wasn't captivated by the story. While the premise was very intriguing and unique, I just couldn't fully become enveloped by the story. I was somewhat bored throughout.

There are twists and turns and action, but none were very well executed. I'm glad that it was just a stand alone instead of a series.

Best Aspect: Unique idea
Worst Aspect: World building

I really liked this. I really felt for the characters, especially, Claire, at the beginning. To not be noticed, for your parents not to care. . . it made me so sad for her. And her and Nix were amazing. And such excellent plot twists.
Spoiler I was really not expecting little Olivia and Max!
The writing was good, and it was an original concept. I hope to be hearing more of the Nobodies and Nulls and Sensors.

I was so excited to read this book because I really enjoy the Natural Series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes but man did I hate it. It felt extremely repetitive and it was full of insta love. I didn't like either of the characters and I almost threw it across the room multiple times. Least favorite book of the year so far.

We've probably all felt like a nobody at some time or another, like we were in a room full of people and yet we were all alone. Some of us might have even felt like that at home in our own families. But what if it were really true. No one saw you. No one noticed you ever. You could shout in their face and they wouldn't hear you. Your parents had to have notes on the back door to remember they had a child. They would leave you at the park, in the car, at the mall. No one ever noticed you until....you feel the hairs on the back of your neck raise and a chill run down your spine. You turn and look and are thrilled and terrified. Someone has noticed you. He's looking right into your eyes and he sees you and he's pointing a gun right at your heart.

Quite the way to meet someone, right? Nix is a nobody who while not supernatural, seems to have some kind of unique power that makes him fade so that he is "nothing." In that form he can walk through walls, people, trees, nothing can hurt him and no one can see him. Except Claire and she thinks he's the most beautiful boy she's ever seen. But he's supposed to kill her. From a distance, no needles, no knives. But once he sees her and he knows she's seen him, he has to make it personal. He's been told she's a Null, an empty shell of a human with no conscience who kills randomly and charms people into doing whatever she wants them to do. She must be eliminated. But each time he tries, she contradicts him. And why can she see him? Is she that good of an actress?

This story is funny, a romance, a thriller and a bit magical. Love always is a bit magical, isn't it?

I did have a few problems with the novel. I couldn't remember what a Nobody or a Null was. Which one was okay to be and which was the psychopath. And in the middle the pace dragged a bit to where I found my interest flailing a bit, but then something would happen and I'd be drawn back in. The ending was fast and very unexpected. I thought for sure there was going to be a sequel but I think everything is wrapped up. I liked the ending, it fit very well.

The first word that comes to mind describing this book is “okay.” It’s just fine. Nothing objectively wrong with it, nothing objectively great about it. I loved the concept and I’ve loved stuff from Jennifer Lynn Barnes in the past, so I was excited to find this at the used book store. Unfortunately, though intriguing in concept, the execution is a bit lackluster. Everything falls a bit flat, from Nix and Claire as main characters to The Society as an antagonist. If the characters’ development felt a bit more natural, and the romance wasn’t so heavy on the insta-love, I could have enjoyed it more.

I liked the idea of not being seen. I didn't like the labels and names for everything; I also had trouble following what was happening. It was too fast and underdeveloped to me. It didn't really make much sense. It was intriguing at first, but.... yeah, no, the Naturals was infinitely better, and I loved the Naturals :)
