Loved going through this book every day for the last year! It really sparked my interest in Stoicism and has honestly made my life that much better for it!!

I picked out this book because I was curious about stoicism. At this point, I'm thinking a year's worth was far more stoicism than I needed. A few questions/concerns/comments:
1. Were there/are there no women stoics? I mean, kinda a stilly question considering women's second class citizen status back in the day, but still. They still have some of Sappho's poetry, don't they?
2. There's an interesting overlap between stoicism and talk therapy. Lots of radical acceptance going on, lots of emphasis on trying to act with logic rather than emotion.
3. Holiday constantly says that reasoned choice is all that I can control. Ha. Ha ha. If I could control my emotions then I wouldn't be reading about stoicism or listening to that book about cleaning up one's mental mess. If you're looking for a how to, this ain't it. To be fair, I don't think there is a how to.
Conclusion: stoicism isn't my ministry, but that doesn't mean I can't learn something from it.
