I was interested in this book from BookTok but I was left feeling a little underwhelmed. The enemies-to-lovers aspect is so short-lived that it is odd how much of a point Alejandro and Alana make of reminding themselves and each other about it. The moment that they have sex for the first time spirals into sex in every single chapter in some capacity. They have their first moment, I would say, in the first third of the book. So, the scenes became repetitive as it didn't really move the plot forward at all. Alana is really new to relationships and one romantically involved and Alejandro pushes her in a way that is too much at times. I don't necessarily feel the love between them but there is lust. Overall, okay.

Very repetitive. More sex than plot. But I liked what little plot there was.

There was not a lot of depth or plot to this book in my opinion. The spice was in every chapter with no creativity it was flat and numbing spice scene and not enough angst, burn, or buildup. I love Sadie’s writing but this felt rushed and had only one focus that ran flat.

tropes are wrong for this book

Be so serious. Like when were they enemies. Like actually the both of them? This book is more marriage of convenience and forced proximity than it is enemies to lovers. Also if you wanna write spice do that. If you wanna write a love story, do that. Don’t start writing a love story and introduce spice, only for the spice to take over when it absolutely should not. It’s annoying to read Alana getting railed and then again from Alejandro’s perspective.

I did really like the end of the book where she finally sees her father for who he is. But, it’s not really that well done. I had high hopes for this book because it starts off okay.

Sadie's books have lots of spice. This included. I enjoyed it. I don't like to read duets but I didn't know this was. I enjoyed it overall with a good storyline and mystery.

live to it title

Impossible to put down. Started reading when I’m ready to bed. But at 3am I’m wide awake. Finished in one sitting.

This is one of the best organized crime books I've read in a while. I fucking loved it
