oh my god. so so good, and such an interesting read. makes you sit with the complexity of people, and how you think about good and evil, and how our choices impact which part of us matters more. my only complaint is I feel like we spend too much time with Ansel. I guess it hanmers home the point how he is just a man, who is clinging to an idea of him being special, while in reality he is deeply mediocre. but I loved saffys pov, and lavenders. such interesting characters, although I would've liked a blue pov, to see how she saw him and she felt about dealing with the idea of who he was to other people.

for the first half of the book I really wasn’t sure why we were spending so much time on Saffy and her storyline but once we learned she’s a cop it all made sense. past third of the book simultaneously felt really slow and rushed but otherwise I liked it I think. HATED the part where hazel is jacking off to the thought of ansel
