A quiet examination of two exes turned friends navigating relationships as the move into adulthood. I enjoyed Rooney’s description of quotidian events and her examination of ordinary people finding ordinary ways to mess up their lives.

3.5 better than last time

This book had interesting themes, and I do really like Rooney’s writing, but I just didn’t really like or connect with these characters.

This book grew on me. It's a beautifully written novel about flawed people and their flawed relationships. While the characters weren't likeable nor relatable, I enjoyed getting in their heads and could understand them.
