This book didn’t hook me as well as Meagan Brandy’s others have, but it had a twist I did not see coming. Like woah.
Meagan Brandy is one of my favorite writers, her stories always have twists and turns that I certainly am not expecting! Dirty Curve is a college baseball romance featuring a confident pitcher and hardworking single mom. If you are fan of angst, you are going to love Tobias and Meyer!!
Meyer is hesitant when she is tasked with tutoring Tobias so that he can qualify for the MLB draft. But here's the thing, Tobias falls for her from day one. And Meyer? She could not be bothered by a snobby baseball player.
Let's start with Tobias. He is a hotshot, that's for sure. He is one of the #1 pitchers in the nation and he knows it. He's got that athletic arrogance and let me tell you, it works for him okay. On the surface he is a playboy but when you peel back those layers, he is a an absolute caring sweetheart.
If I could choose one word to explain Meyer, it would be genuine. She really is unapologetically herself. Meyer is the nerdy girl just trying to make ends meet. She has a LOT going on in her life but keeps mostly to herself. But Tobias wins her over! And she finally lets him in.
I could cry over these two. Their bond is so intimate and sweet. This is a super quick and flirty read. But in true Meagan Brandy fashion, there are some crazy twists, turns, and secrets revealed!

The plot twist was so unexpected… otherwise such a cute story

I honestly wish I could give this more than five stars. It has been so long since a book has pulled me in and refused to let go. The twists and turns that happen in the book blew my mind. Tobias is absolutely amazing! His character development as he falls for the girl is absolutely fantastic! Then there is Meyer the girl who saves him, but at the risk of losing it all. She was the definition of strength. Their relationship was destined to be and I absolutely loved reading about all of it. This was without a doubt a perfect game

I don’t even know what happened with this one. It started with the MMC being an absolutely insufferable tool who thought he was God’s gift to women and couldn’t fathom a girl not being attracted to him. It ended with me being annoyed at all the characters because they were all so annoying. I also couldn’t get past the twist because it wasn’t that shocking but also was a hot mess and (spoiler!) finding out the MMC and FMC had already met and hooked up before the book even starts and he didn’t remember anything about it did not help make him more likable.
