i read this for school :D

Slow moving...kind of like the 1st book, but now the novelty of the ruined world has worn off. I'm curious what book 3 will cover...

I enjoyed the book and the writing. It wasn't a typical storyline plot which was nice, though being the second in a trilogy you do get left a bit hanging at the end. It had been a while since I read Oryx and Crake, so I didn't really remember that story, and really this one didn't help for quite a while as they stories don't just follow each other. So that left me a bit confused, and I did start tying things together, though made me think I should read MaddAddam a lot sooner after this than I did for the sequel.
slow-paced

listened to the audiobook and the singing made me wanna break my phone

Incredible. I don't understand how it's possible to weave two stories together the way Atwood has with the two MadAddam novels. They stand alone perfectly, and when read together they resound with each other and make the characters and plotlines even more vibrant and rich. Even though I just reread Oryx and Crake, I want to go back and read it for a third time to trace the skeleton of the YotF characters it so subtly outlines. Not what I was expecting at all. And now that I've read it, it's totally transformed what I'll expect for the third installment! Can't wait :-)
