I think this was the novel that turned me into a die-hard Palahniuk fan. After reading Rant, I got all the Chuck the library had to offer. A gateway drug of a book.

After Choke I said I was never going to read another Palahniuk book. But Fenie talked me into this one. I read four chapters while sitting in an adorable library in New York, and now I'm finishing it.

8-24 - Alright, my mind is officially fucked. I don't think I even understood what the hell happened in the last 40 pages or so.

This made up for Choke, by a long run. But I'm starting to wonder if the only reason I liked Fight Club is because I already had a general idea of what I was getting into because of the movie. The frenetic pace and total schizophrenic writing was so enjoyable, but would I have liked it if I didn't understand based on the movie?

Hmm.

Still not sure I'll read more Palahniuk books. But at least now I'm not ready to burn them.

I love the diseases side of it, but I'm not too into cars. Still interested in his other books!

Very good, very unique, but a little too much craziness for me. The farther out there it got, the more disenchanted I became. The ideas were great standing alone, but a little discombobulated when jammed together for me.

this is a greatest hits of all the themes in all of palahniuk's other books. you can basically read this one and not bother with any of his others.

Absolute odd ball of a novel and I should’ve expected it from Palahniuk. He’s an absolute oddball haha. The minute I thought I understood how the novel was going a curveball was sent and then another and another until I’m pelted by them. It’s so hard to tell whose perspective is right after so many second hand accounts. I think that ties in to the “history” aspect of this novel. So many things get jumbled up with conspiracy and hearsay and misinterpretations because of all these darn people. I loved it. The confusion, the out of whack world, all of it.
