This story follows Sydney who has been love with her best friend and both are stuck in a snowstorm where chemistry is brewing. I really enjoyed this book. I was nervous at first because Jennifer writes great fantasy romance so I wasn’t sure if I would like her contemporary romance. However, Jennifer didn’t disappoint. This book was well written and I really enjoyed the storyline. There were lots of conflict and pacing made the story flow. With the fast pacing, I also finished this book fairly quickly. This book is told from both Kyler and Sydney’s pov.
Kyler is a playboy who tries to get every girl but wasn’t want to lose Syd by declaring his feelings. Syd is the same but is a homebody who prefers to not go out. I liked both of their character but I did feel like something was missing from their story. There are side characters in this book but none that were truly involved with the story. The romance is childhood friends to lovers, forced proximity, and slow burn. The chemistry was great and I really enjoyed the romance.
The ending was wonderful and overall this was a great story. I’m excited to read the second book following the best friend. This was a short book but I think if it was a but longer where the MC’s stories were more explained, it would have been much better. I recommend checking this book out for the winter season.

I loved this book. It ended just the way it should have. I couldn't ask for anymore!!!
2-2.5 Stars
I like this book, but then, I spent a LOT of time fuming about the double standard Kyler has for himself and his best friend Sydney. He is allowed to treat his penis like a "bus terminal" (Yes, they say this in the book, I am not that creative) however when a guy even look at Sydney he is there to essentially cock block. OKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY.
The best way I can describe this book is like a bowl of brownie batter. One taste, and no problems, you eat the whole bowl, and you feel sick.

🌬️ This is my first Jennifer L. Armentrout book and it’ll definitely be my last. I love the writing, plus I own so many of her books 🤣
Anyways this story of Kyler and Sydney is just the perfect mixture of friends to lovers, forced proximity, snowed in, smut and thriller vibes
The only thing that annoyed me was the miscommunication. But since it was a quick read it didn’t bother me too much.

This was a nice winter romance read. It was very low stakes and has a HEA.
Kylers character is a tough pill to swallow even with his personality explained later in the book. It's obvious he cares for Sydney but it's frustrating to read about him jumping from girl to girl but also stopping her from talking to literally any other guy.
The characters both have good arcs though which is nice to see. I would have liked to see a bit more of them after their resolution rather than them tucking away together again. I wanted to see real protective Kyler and Sydney get the public recognition she deserves from him.

I have a lot of conflicting feelings about this book. First, I’ll say, I finished it in one day. So obviously something about it kept my attention. I was initially drawn to this book because I love a good ‘snowed in together’ trope and I’ve enjoyed this author’s other books. There were several times when I thought ‘21 year olds do not act like this’ but I can suspend belief. I really didn’t like their friendship dynamic at the beginning- why was he calling her ‘baby’? Why was he having her sit on his lap? I thought he was also too young to have a ‘women only want me for my body’ chip on his shoulder. What really ruined it for me was the ending scene… When a guy says something along the lines of ‘I am an asshole and you’re too good for me,’ you should believe him and run away.
