I don't usually read business books, but this was a fascinating read. You always hear about the creative and animation aspects of Pixar, but the business part - getting it up off the ground - is rarely mentioned. It's easy for legal and business jargon to get dry and boring, but Levy keeps it simple and, thankfully, interesting.

Behind the scenes of the Pixar business during its most crucial time. Seeing the movie as a kid, and now reading this book - it's just flat out incredible. Levy goes into the 4 key goals that Pixar pushed to achieve during his term as CFO. But it's more than that, Levy makes you feel like you are in the dark screening room watching that intro scene to Toy Story. You can practically hear his excitement in the future of Pixar when not many others saw it. Pick up this book - it is a fantastic read for anyone interested in a great business story! As pixar says, "it all starts with the story"

I have always enjoyed Pixar’s products and this book gave me great insights into how such artistry in both storytelling and technology came about as a product. Lawrence Levy strikes me as a great person who managed to both learn and achieve a lot as a leader and member of a great team of talented people. Steve Jobs had a great, very humane coverage in this book, too. While enjoying the story, I have also learnt a lot about company strategy and stages of growing a business. I could not put this book down for several days and I’m glad I’ve read it.

Thanks to all involved in Pixar and the book.

Just like the Pixar movies, you feel the feelings. You cry (I cried), you laugh and as always you root for the underdog.

Very interesting telling of the Pixar story from the legal and business point of view. It’s a very personal testimonial and I think it’s all the better for that
