I am absolutely obsessed. It was so wonderful. My reading mood is usually not yearning for dramatic moments between humans in relationships and friendships but, make the setting a band and Iโm there for it. I ate this book up and I ate UP THE DRAMA!!!

The events that took place, the music, it was almost like I was THERE! At the Chicago stadium, at SNL, at everything, Reid takes you along so expertly and I have to warn, donโt sit pretty while reading this because there ARE plot twists and you WILL cry :))

In a setting that demeaned and objectified women on a consistent basis, I feel itโs important to discuss the women. they all had a different aura of strength about their own womanhood that I loved understanding. Karen is so me, sheโs just a reflection of the person I am. From the line of โI wanted to do what I wanted and then live in a house alone in the mountains.โ Youโre my favorite ever. Thank you Karen for showing me not having a man or a family doesnโt make you any less of a woman. Daisy Jones :( she makes me sad and affectionately enthusiastic. I dream of being a performer like Daisy, and sometimes I am that one because when you know youโre good at something, everyone else feels it too!! Daisy had such driven change and such a beautiful story arc. Sheโs wonderful. Thank you Daisy Jones for being the wildest of them. Camila. Camila is also a part of me. The part that yearns for a faithful husband and a family in a house on the water. She made me mad from time to time but she didnโt have just her to think of. She had a family, and family makes you do strange things. Thank you Camila for showing me motherhood isnโt always to do with children.

Billy Dunne was, what I thought, gonna be my favorite character, until he screwed up entirely. I have the most rage in my body and itโs all for Billy. My world view on cheaters is extremely black and white because I donโt mess with people who canโt stay faithful. I donโt stay friends with people who receive pleasure from women while their pregnant wife is believing they are doing better. I HATE BILLY DUNNE. And he never learned. Firstly idk how tf he told his daughter all this shit like BILLY WHAT. And this pissed me off so entirely. Every single time after he went to rehab he would bring up the fact that he had not cheated.
โI was faithful to my wife the moment I straightened up.โ AND YET FELL IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE ELSE?!? I donโt care, if youโre truly in love, thereโs no one else. And Camila deserved better. Lowkey fuck both of the Dunne Brothers bc Grahamโs reaction to the abortion is NOT FAIR. And to end. Letโs give it up for my favorite quote :) I love you DAISY JONES!!!

LOVED. Helps that thereโs a show to go along with it. Liked it more than Evelyn Hugo and appreciated the character depth here. Ending was meh
Een stuk minder leuk dan dat ik had verwacht unfortunately. De schrijfstijl werkte net niet helemaal en eigenlijk voelde het voor mij een beetje als een Evelyn Hugo 2.0 verhaal. Daisy en Billy boeide me ook eigenlijk maar weinig, Camila, Karen en Graham waren veel interessanter terwijl het boek daar eigenlijk nauwelijks over ging. Daarnaast vond ik de reveal aan het einde ook weer een beetje te erg lijken op die in "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" en ik vond het wel jammer want ik had wel verwacht dat ik het een leuk boek zou vinden. Misschien dat het als luisterboek aantrekkelijker dus dat ga ik ooit nog wel proberen.

This was a good story but the format of it was not my favorite. I have read the reviews that say the audio book is better. Maybe I will try that later, but the printed version was hard for me to read.
