“I haven’t even kissed her yet and I can tell once would never be enough”

This book!!! There isn’t enough words to express how much I enjoyed reading it. I had to read the book twice because I was so engrossed in it the first time, I forgot to annotate.

Easton Blake is everything you want in a hockey book boyfriend. Swoon worthy, sexy, an absolute charmer. Every time he gave maya his puppy eyes I kept wondering how she could resist?!
Speaking of maya, she has to be one of the best female mcs I’ve read in a while. She was so headstrong in what she wanted and stood by it regardless of eastons persuits.
The banter between them and how they both always had an answer for everything made me smile so much, the way Easton fell first and was obsessed with her! I cannot get the grocery scene out of my head, he just heard her voice and was whipped.

Can I just comment on the reality check delivered in this book? It really did put into perspective that sometimes you just don’t get a chance to say goodbye

Iced out has definitely exceeded my expectations, i went from sinners and saints straight into the crowned crows so I was curious about how Veronica Eden would write male characters who weren’t morally grey but boy did she do it and now I want more and more.

First off I’d like to say I almost DNF’d this during the first couple of chapters. But I kept going because I just LOVE hockey romances. I’m glad I did because I ended up really enjoying it. The reason I almost DNF’d this was the beginning. The way the male lead talked right off the bat made me cringe a bit. Immediate “baby” and other things.

I really enjoyed the dual PoV. And the time skips so it didn’t feel like it dragged. However the main female character is known to dance and likes to dance on the bar. But from what she’s described she doesn’t seem like the typical girl to dance on a bar.

The epilogue is two parts (which surprised me) so each main character could explain things further but I enjoyed both. Overall if you like hockey romance definitely give this a try. It had me in a grip after it progressed.

❗SPOILERS❗

This was a sweet story. Easton was the perfect boyfriend. He legit ran through campus to get to Maya. He repeatedly commuted to her when her grandfather passed. There was hardly any tension in this story.

Johnny was hardly a threat. He broke into her apartment and was beaten for it.

The big drama was her grandfather passing away.

Her brother was mad about them dating for like two second, then he got over it.

Incredibly cheesy - not in a bad way. I’m so glad the author didn’t feel the need to write unnecessary breakup plots and drama after drama, it felt real somehow. I’m not rating more than three stars because I’m not feeling the vibe of such a nice guy - I recently read a few dark romance and I’m sort of still rooting for bad guys; and also because the writing didn’t quite work for me as well as it could’ve.

uh…. okay, Veronica, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE???????????????

honestly.

this book!!!! this series!!!! this team!!!! Heston University has my entire heart!

Easton was such a golden retriever, so sure of himself and his feelings and the way he supported and had Mayas back no matter what???? UNMATCHED!!!!

Maya, my angel!!!! I wish I could protect you but I know Easton will so that’s okay! I honestly couldn’t read her talking about her grandpa bc I am also obsessed with mine and have the same feelings she had.

Veronica is truly one of the best authors I found this year and I will be reading all the books she has released so far!

Also, I neeeeeeed the next Heston U book like, yesterday!!!! Hoping it’s for our goalie, Cameron ❤️‍
