The utter randomness of this was in no way compelling to me. It felt like Alice was just drifting from scene to scene without any direction or purpose. I kept waiting for something to happen that would make me understand why this is such a beloved children’s classic, but that moment never arrived. Maybe the brilliance of this just went over my head.
Sadly, this type of nonsensical story is not for me. I have never seen the movies (cartoon or live action), but I did know the start of Alice falling down the rabbit hole. I understand that this book might have been groundbreaking in its time, but the story is too absurd for me to follow or to see any plotline in it. In addition, I didn't like any of the characters except for perhaps the Cheshire Cat. I know this is a favourite of many, but it wasn't for me.

A classic! Lewis Carroll has such a great way with words. You are transported into the most miraculously crazy world in Wonderland. The zany characters and scenery capture the imagination.

This book hits the nail on the head in terms of what it is like to dream, and how dreams contain so much wisdom but make no sense at all, and how you think things are maybe kind of weird in a dream but accept them anyway. It made me laugh aloud a couple of times because it is just so perfect.
