If I hadn't already known the story of Alice in Wonderland from movies, I believe this book would have been incredibly confusing.
I can see the appeal of the whimsical story but I couldn’t make sense of those weird poems but who knows maybe I’m a little bit biased because the story was never a favourite of mine when I was a kid.

this book is so much weirder than i remember- so much more political commentary as well! definitely one of my favorite stories!

The original "it was all a dream". Very short but interesting to see just how far newer adaptations have gone from the source material.

Decided to read it  because of R.F. Kuang and her upcoming book. I'm glad i read it. whilst it wasn't the most interesting thing for me to read,  i just know it would hit different reading it as a bed time story for a kiddo

I really wanted to like this book more. I'm fond of the various adaptations of Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass in their many forms, but for whatever reason the original novel didn't resonate with me on the same level. I'm going to read Through the Looking Glass next and I sincerely hope I like it more.

The story can't help but conjure images of the 1951 Walt Disney film that I watch many times as a child, although that did stray from the book in places.

The plot is one of Alice who chases the white rabbit down a rabbit hole and discovers the strange world of the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and the Cheshire Cat, to name but a few of the fantastical characters dreamt up by Lewis Carroll.
