Came in expecting to adore this book but I was so disappointed. The premise is amazing, and it is well written. Unfortunately I didn't like Henry or Clare and was frustrated that Clare had zero life outside of Henry.

A beautiful book. At times it can feel a bit hard to follow but the story is so original, sweet and beautiful. I'm re-reading this one for book club. Love it!

What a brilliant novel, I couldn’t put this down and read through it in a couple of days! This is a beautiful romance plagued with uncertainty and tragedy. Niffenegger’s prose is so interesting and the way she brings together all of the different time slots is explosive by the end of the novel, every little memory of Henry and Claire has an important place. There are times of incredible beauty and times of incredible sadness but you fall in love with Henry and Claire, Henry being the most loveable of rogues. It explores the limits of what we can love and how soon this love can start to blossom. You really feel for Henry’s inability to control his time travel and throughout the novel you long for him to find a way to anchor himself to his present, to live a normal life with the woman he loves. But it is of course this time travel that makes this story so unusual and so indulgent. This novel is much deserving of its popularity, and it is definitely one of a kind!

One of my closest friends shared this book with me and claimed that it was her favorite book. After finishing it, I'm unsure why she said that. I was intrigued in the beginning of the story, but as time went on I became less interested in what was happening. The plot struggled to keep me engaged and by the end of the novel I didn't even have the energy to finish the book. I merely scanned the last 30 pages. With that being said, I appreciate the relationships portrayed because even with the supernatural element, they represent a very realistic relationship. I haven't seen the movie and after reading I'm not sure I want to.
