Lynette is kind of a badass. I hope the new girl does good things.

admittedly didnt realise this was the 3rd book in the series. did bring back my interest in house of night but at times the writing felt strange.

For a spin-off to the House of night series or an extension to the series this one was a rather large disappointment.

It was excruciating to get through. it literally took me 3 months to read... Despite the fact that I was pregnant and preparing to have our baby and this past month we have been adjusting to the new baby being in the household ...but even still... 3 years ago when I had my twins as newborns in the household I was still able to read a book within two weeks time. This one was just very slow....it kind of felt like I was rereading a book. Without giving too much away... it kind of felt repeated.

I loved this book! I love the beginning where we see what happened with Kalona and Nyx and Erebus. I love Kalona in that part and how he was willing to do anything to help his brother. I felt so bad for Kevin in this book because he just suffered the loss of Aphrodite. I'm glad Grandma Redbird was able to help him deal with his grief. I hate that Loren fell for Neferet's charms and went to her only to be killed. I love that Denise became a sprite instead of actually dying. And I hate that Lynette and Neferet figured out how to get into Zoey's world. That sucked and won't be good for Zoey. I'm glad I already have the next book because the ending was such a cliffhanger.

Though I enjoyed this whole book my favourite part of it wasnt even the main story. The opening chapters with Erebus and Kalona were the best and I cant wait to see more of them. ||Lynette's|| reappearance suprised me as does the difference in the way they think, ||it is not all simply self preservation for this version||. I was sad we didn't get more of Kev in this story, this book was mostly focused on Neferet. Overall I do think this storyline is good though I do still feel its missing something.
