I really enjoyed "Good in Bed" and thought it rose above most of it's chick-lit counterparts with smart, witty, laugh-out-loud writing. I loved the character of Cannie. Funny and relateable, she was someone I wanted to go have a margarita and a plate of nachos with. I felt she lost her appeal in this book and just came across as pathetic. Also, the voice of Joy felt untrue to me for a girl of barely thirteen.

And the end? There seems to be a new trend pop fiction where authors feel the need to hit out readers over the head with a tragedy to keep from being predictable. The problem is it has become so overused that it comes across as just that. Predictable.

Overall, disappointing.

Well, since I loved Good in Bed so much, I had really high hopes for this one. However, I just wasn't blown away the way that I'd hoped. It was good enough but it wasn't as fantastic as I was hoping.

Really liked this book up until the end. The end kinda ruined it for me.

The sequel to "Good In Bed;" the story picks up several years later and deals more with the drama of Cannie and her soon to be teenage daughter.

I picked this up for $2 at a thrift store. It's been so long since I read Good in Bed that I don't remember it at all, so I can't comment on how it measures up as a sequel. As a stand-alone, though, I thought this one was just okay. I had a hard time caring much about any of the characters, which made it difficult to get into the book, and the weird, tragic ending came out of left field, like she just decided the best way to end the book was to kill off a character. Meh.

Wasn't too excited about this book. Didn't get into it till the end. She's written better!!

Really enjoyed this sequel to 'Good in Bed'! It was funny yet heartwarming. Told from the perspective of returning main character Cannie and her adolescent daughter Joy in alternating chapters. Really makes you realize how much can be miss-communicated between Mother and Daughter lol. Good read!

In a continuation of Cannie Shapiro's story (the main character from Good in Bed), Jennifer Weiner turns to Mommy lit with solid results.

This was probably my least favorite Jennifer Weiner book yet. The use of different narrators each chapter was well done, but the characters themselves were a little too over-the-top, I felt.
