This was so entertaining. Honestly, I haven’t been this focused and absorbed in a book for a long time. I’m literally writing this at 4 am.
I liked how the pacing was, keeping you going and wondering what the hell is going on. It was so good, I honestly did not expect the plot twist. I would’ve liked a little more diving into the reasons and certain past, but honestly it was okay.

The book itself is good. The writing is fine, nothing incredibly special, but fast-paced and an easy read. Despite having dark overtones, I never really felt like I was on the edge of my seat. The plot itself was good! There were great moments where I truly didn't know what was going on, which left me wanting more. The ending, albeit a bit rushed, was well-done overall. The twist (if you could call it that?) was a bit overdone, and kind of predictable from the start. I wouldn't read it again, but it was a good, fast-paced YA thriller. 3/5 stars!

Fast paced but pretty predictable. I didn't really like that it was written in first person.
I liked The Companion overall, but I had some issues with it. It was really predictable, and I wish it wouldn't have been so easy to figure out. It also felt overly long for the story that was being told, and it dragged sometimes. However, I was still interested enough to finish, and I would check out another book by this author.
