This series is, so good. The book does a great job of balancing all the interacting plot points with the different POVs. You get a very full story that keeps you in suspense for a while.

Okay, I know people reading this review are probably coming to see if there is an update on the Kerrigan/Zachary situation, and yeah, fine, you’ll be happy. Unfortunately my OTP, Kerrigan/sleep, has continued to go without even the barest of crumbs to sustain me.

This book deals with a lot of the macro plot details which we’re starting to get overwhelming in the last book, and I am very happy about that - but I think it is time we talked about how heavily Britain relies on abduction as a plot device.

God KB did it again!!! The plot was phenomenal, the character growth was incredible, and there are some twists here you will NOT expect. I absolutely love that it was 800 pages because I can never get enough of the green rider world. I cannot WAIT for book 8 and am incredibly sad it’s gonna be the last in the series!! But she really set up book 8 to be epic with the end of book 7. 10/10 will definitely be reading again.

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW.

BLOG || INSTAGRAM

Fair warning: this series does not have an end date.

AND I AM IN TURMOIL.

There’s not even news on the next book?!

Anyways, actual book review information.

Another enjoyable installment. I liked most of the direction for the characters here and how the plot continually thickened around many aspects. My mind is pulled in so many directions while reading this series and yet, I am easily able to move through each segment and remember what’s happening and who’s doing what. I love the readability of these books and how much the audio is a game changer for them as well.

Karigan kind of at least, caught a few breaks this go around. I love seeing her continual development as a character and I am here to follow her wherever she goes. I don’t know how I feel about the romance sub plot though?! I’m more conflicted than I was after reading Mirrorsight. It’s a very tangled web that fits the nature of the book, but leaves me wanting a bit more.

I have truly enjoyed reading this hidden nook series in the fantasy genre. I highly recommend if you’re looking for something off the beaten path with multi-POV, high action and intense situations.

Overall audience notes:
- Fantasy
- Language: very little
- Romance: kisses
- Violence: high
- Trigger/Content Warnings: PTSD (for torture), loss of life, war themes and battles, poisoning, near death experiences, emotional infidelity

This wasn't quite five stars, but you can't give half stars on Goodreads.

I've been a big fan of Kristen Britain from the beginning. This book was long. It felt long. A lot happened, but did there need to be so many things? Great character development, and I can already see the next book and new arcs playing out.

I honestly though the series would end at the last book as that felt like a nice ending, but I guess I am the only one who thinks so. Suppose we call all wait for the eighth and final book.
